It's Official!! The nest is empty!

Well, it is official now.  My daughter drove back to college and my husband and I spent the weekend moving my son into his dorm room.  Very emotional for all of us.  Well, maybe just me, but it was hard for my husband too.

 We have spent the last 21 years raising children and then one day all too soon they spread their wings and fly.  Maybe they hop on the ground a few times first but then hopefully they fly.  Here are a few pictures of the kids when they were younger.

The Lord has blessed us with our family and I pray he keeps them close to him as they move out into the world!  Thanks for reading and letting me vent my Empty Nest Blues!!

Some things to love about fall!

Spring and Summer are my favorite seasons, but I have to admit that even I get tired of hot weather.  I like spring and summer because  I associate them with childhood and freedom from school.  Fall is just around the corner now and both of my children will be away at college.  I know I will be having the empty nest thing to deal with so I need to cheer myself up.  I actually do like the change of seasons and fall is such a pretty time of year.  Last October I took some pictures around my home.  Here are a few of them.

I also love FOOTBALL, so I am really excited about watching and attending some games.  Since both of my children will be in college this year (different schools though) we will be going to some college games.

 I hope everyone is enjoying these last few weeks of summer and looking forward to some of the "cool" things about fall!

Let Me Introduce Myself...

Hey!
Welcome to "Missy Prissy," my name is Carla. Before I begin, let me explain the reason for my blog title! My entire life, my family has called me "prissy." When I was younger, this irritated me, but as I've gotten older I've come to embrace the girly-girl in myself. I may be a bit prissy, but I realize now this isn't a bad thing - yes, I love Lilly and everything pink - so what? :)

Meet my family!

I have a wonderful family. I am the mother of two wonderful children, who will both be leaving for college in a few days.

Here are a few things about myself..

-I believe that God has a plan and a purpose for my life. He is number one!
-I love to read.. you'll always find me with a new book in my hand. I love all different genres: fiction, nonfiction. A few of my favorite authors are Nora Roberts and Francine Rivers.
-I'm dedicated to being healthy and I have been Jazzercising for 18 years. I love to dance, and I love the friends I've made.

Today is a special day because it's mine and my husband's 29th anniversary.
